Gemoss is a Latvian family-owned company founded in 1993. Today, it is one of the leading hospitality industry (HoReCa) suppliers in the Baltics, offering full-service solutions: a wide range of food ingredients, products and non-food goods, professional equipment and machinery, inventory rental, and service solutions for both industry professionals and culinary enthusiasts. The company also operates its own production and packaging facility, where Gemoss brands such as “Zelta Rieksts”, “Just Nature”, “Dienas Deva”, “Cake & Bake”, and others are developed, alongside private label products created for clients.

The Revival of a Historic Warehouse Building

The store is located in a restored historic warehouse building with a history spanning more than 100 years. At the beginning of the 20th century, this site housed the Jēkabpils branch of the central union of cooperative societies “Konzums”, which not only purchased and exported goods produced by farmers, but also supplied cooperative members with merchandise, inventory, and equipment.

The main goal of the reconstruction was to preserve the building’s authentic character while adapting it to the requirements of a modern retail space. The interior also incorporates historical elements from other Latvian buildings, including timber from the Āgenskalns Market and the Latvian National Library. These details reflect Gemoss’ commitment to sustainable development and respect for historical heritage.
