Description
In the Old Town Square of Jēkabpils there is a bronze sculpture of a lynx. The lynx is the symbol of Jēkabpils and is depicted on the city's coat of arms. The Old Town lynx is located at the edge of a fountain, stepping over a symbolic river Daugava – a fountain that creates a whirlpool.
The sculpture was created by sculptor Andris Silapēters and was installed in 2010.
