2024 TOURISM STATISTICS IN JĒKABPILS COUNTY

1. Dynamics of visits to the social media accounts of the website visit.jekabpils.lv and @visitjekabpils

The unified tourism information website of the Jēkabpils County visit.jekabpils.lv has been operating since July 2022. In 2023, it was visited by a total of 63 thousand users, but in 2024 - more than 67 thousands.  94% of them are residents of Latvia. 83% of users to the website visit.jekabpils.lv are redirected from search engines, 10% are direct users, the rest are redirected from social networks and other websites.

Since 2022, the Jēkabpils County Tourism Information Centre is maintaining informative accounts on social media sites Facebook.com and Instagram.com. In 2024, a new account was also created on the TikTok.com website.

4. Proportion of foreign guests at Jēkabpils County tourist attractions.

Jēkabpils County TIC has compiled data on visitors to tourism and hospitality facilities for 2024. Service providers indicated that in general the number of foreign travelers is not considered high, but has a tendency to increase. Jēkabpils County tourism service providers are mainly visited by Latvian travelers - individual travelers, families with children, groups of friends and interest groups, as well as organized groups.

Currently, the number of foreign travelers listed makes up approximately 4% of the total number of visitors. Most often, foreign travelers come from Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Germany and Finland.

5. Number of clients at the Jēkabpils County Tourism Information Centre (TIC).

Jēkabpils County TIC is located in Jēkabpils, at Vecpilsētas laukums 3. TIC started its work on January 1, 2022. TIC currently has 3 employees.
In addition to marketing the region's tourism offer, developing tourism materials and organizing events, TIC also serves customers and provides consultations to interested parties, as well as conducts excursions in Jēkabpils upon request, and offers souvenirs.

In 2024, the tourism center served 3,529 customers. 424 or 12% of the guests welcomed at the tourism center were foreign guests.
