Description

It was built from 1856 until 1860 by Baron von Budberg. The original facade of the castle has been preserved. Inside the castle, the first-floor entrance and painted tile stove attest to the splendour of the building as a manor estate.

Near Gārsene Palace, an interactive touch screen has been installed – a 24/7 accessible digital guide that allows visitors to browse through the pages of Gārsene’s history. The touch screen also features an integrated artificial intelligence character – the manor’s gardener Hermanis. As a reliable companion, he guides visitors through the history of the estate, helping users absorb information and especially supporting people with visual impairments by providing the option to listen to the text displayed on the screen.

Meanwhile, the augmented reality solution invites guests to embark on a unique ghost‑hunting adventure. By downloading the augmented reality app onto their smart device and following the instructions, visitors can see the legendary, kind‑hearted ghost of Gārsene Palace – the Blue Lady.
